Property for sale in Thailand: Jomtien
Jomtien is a district of Pattaya (see separate
Resort Guide) located in the province of Chonburi
on Thailand’s
gorgeous east coast. Pattaya is a very lively
resort destination and Thailand’s chief beach resort, so attracting
hundreds of thousands of sun-worshippers and thrillseekers each year.
Jomtien is a much
more laid-back affair altogether; an ideal beach
resort destination for families or holidaymakers seeking more peace
and quiet than Pattaya
has to offer, nonetheless allowing easy access
to fantastic nightlife if it is needed.
Pattaya rises into Buddha Hill in the south of
the district, and it is this that separates Pattaya
from Jomtien. Essentially, Jomtien is a quiet residential area with
not so much
in the way of the bars and clubs of its livelier
neighbour, but it does offer beachside holiday accommodation, some excellent
restaurants
and lots for children to get involved in. They
will especially enjoy Pattaya Park, which contains a rollercoaster,
waterpark and much more
for younger holidaymakers’ enjoyment. The park is marked by
the 56-storey Pattaya Park Tower, which can be
seen from miles around.
The one thing Jomtien most definitely shares with
Pattaya is the quality of the watersports available.
Jomtien is a particularly good spot for windsurfing, due to the perfect
breezes
that come in from the Thai Gulf. Quality parasailing
and scuba diving are also available in Jomtien. With a gorgeous, coconut
palm-fringed
6 kilometre beach (twice the size of Pattaya’s), most any beach
or water-based sports can be happily and safely
pursued in Jomtien.
Jomtien’s proximity to Pattaya marks it as a destination that
offers the best of both worlds, particularly when
it comes to property investment. As a quiet family resort with access
to nearby nightlife
